IBSA Basketball prides itself on striving to develop the values we hold in the highest regard - values such as discipline, consistency and honesty. Over the
past decade of operations we have taught and echoed these values across seven locations and thousands of young athletes across Ontario. However, recently we have been made aware of a situation regarding a member of our coaching staff that has compelled us to communicate a statement to all members
that may have been affected.
On June 21st we released a video highlighting a member of staff, Andrija Sola, who we believed needed our help for a kidney procedure. Through this video, we
invited members to donate to a GoFundMe page held by Andrija Sola. Many of our own staff, families and friends donated. Any donated funds were to be allocated towards the kidney procedure that was to occur, to our knowledge, before the end of summer.
Based on the recent actions of Andrija Sola, and red flags surrounding the situation, we have decided to no longer support his efforts as we do not believe them
to be genuine or credible. Accordingly, we have distanced ourselves from the individual and the situation by taking the appropriate measures.
In investigating further, we were disturbed to come across a plagiarized version of our website and training program created by Andrija Sola. This website
is a copy and paste job of our own IBSA Basketball website, down to the exact word. It is our responsibility to our members to report that any plagiarized programs being offered by Andrija Sola are not endorsed nor
affiliated with IBSA Basketball in any manner. We cannot guarantee the safety or quality of any program shown on the copied site.
In saying all of the above, we would like to apologize as we feel responsible for our members donating for a cause that does not look to be progressing
legitimately in any manner. As well, if you donated to the GoFundMe page in question we are offering to reimburse that amount entirely towards our programming. Please contact us by email to do so.
